Wow... Summer is rapidly approaching and before you know it, Fall will be here.  Time seems to be moving so fast lately.  I know we are receiving previews of the Holiday merchandise already!

Dragon Month in March was such a success that we are hereby declaring June as Faery Month at Witchy Wearables!  In fact, to welcome in the month of June (and Faeries) we hosted a Faery & Tree Spirit Ritual SUNDAY, May 31st.

There are classes pertaining to the Fae (more may be added as the month goes on).  Certain Fairies are 20% off of prices marked (get them before they are gone). 

We have new fairy books, tarot cards, a new shipment of STRANGLINGS and much more. 

Also this month we are once again participating in the Solstice Event TUTTI INSIEME Festival.  It will be held on June 20th in Willowbrook, IL.  Check out the details further on in this newsletter.

FAERY MONTH AT WITCHY WEARABLES

Before we go any further, I need to give credit for the beautiful artwork used in this article to Molly Harrison (we did a blurb on her a few months ago). Faeries have always been an important part of my growing up. I think the first faeries I took a liking to was Flora, Fauna and Merriweather in Disney's Sleeping Beauty. Of course being the little dark one that I am, I also loved the "fallen faery" Malificent! Hence my love for the colors black and purple and dragons! Of course Tinker Bell was an important part of growing up and as time went on, I learned the beauty of Brian Froud's Faeries, Goblins, Pixies and more!  Even today, I love to watch Jim Hensen's film(s) Labyrinth and Dark Crystal. If you haven't seen these films, they are worth a rent! Cicely Mary Barker is probably one of the foremost Fairy artists. Her Flower Fairy paintings are well known around the world. Some of the other "older" fairy artists include Arthur Rackham and Sulamith Wulfing.Today there are so many wonderful fairy artists and their imagination is endless! Witchies has brought you a few, but there are so many, many more such as Amy Brown, Jessica Galbreth, Linda Ravenscroft, Paulina Stuckey, Molly Harrison, Meredith Dillman (she designed our logo), Josephine Wall, Nene Thomas, Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, Jasmine Becket-Griffith (designer of the STRANGLINGS)  and more!  The world of Fay is to encompassing that you could read and read books on these magickal creatures and still not know everything there is to learn!

During this month (also my Birthday month) I hope to instill come of the love of the mystical and magickal faey and bring them into your life through our books, classes, greeting cards, statuary and more!  Morn and I will be teaching a class on the Fey on June 30th.

We recently had a class running ASTRAL PROJECTION. The class was cancelled because no one had pre-registered. On the day the class was supposed to run, we had 2 phone calls and one walk-in who wanted to attend the class! A Love Offering is a donation of any amount given to the Facilitator of the event.Witchies does not keep any of it  - it goes to the Facilitator/Organizer of the event/ritual. A lot of time and effort goes into putting things together and this is simply one way to show your appreciation. Hope this answers your questions.

This is a hands-on workshop in which you will make your own magick wands.  An assortment of twigs and sticks will be provided, but you may bring your own.  We will also provide wire, crystals, feathers, leather thongs, beads and shells, glue, a wood burning tool and sandpaper.  While working you will learn the history of the magick wand and how to use your wand.  At the end of class we will consecraate the wands you have made.

In this ongoing class you will learn just what Hedgewitchery is and isn't. You will learn a bit about Greencraft, Kitchen Witchery, spellcraft, garden of a Hedgewitch; herb growing, drying and collecting, superstitions from the olden days, and in October, you will make your own broom.  This month's class is about Witches Bottles. You will learn a bit of the history of these special spells and will actually make one for yourself.

MAKE YOUR OWN FAIRY RUNES

Using oversized colored quartz crystals you will draw your own Runes on each stone,  charging them with your own energy.  We will be using the traditional Futhark runes, however we will have information on using the Elven runes if you would prefer.  Class includes stones, pens and a bag for your runes.

Blessed Offering Stones are a wonderful way to give something back to the earth and to nature. When you take something from a forest or a sacred special site within nature, perhaps a rock or a branch that you feel a connection to, it's nice to give something back to the earth in return as your gift to nature.

These handmade and all-natural Offering Stones are made using all organic ingredients, organic lavender, pink rose petals, chamomile and jasmine flowers, and are gently dusted with silver and pink glitter. Leave an Offering Stone as your sacred gift next time you take a flower, leaf or pinecone from the forest. Toss one into a river or stream, or leave as a blessed gift to the fae in your faery garden. All-natural Blessed Offering Stones will eventually disintegrate, becoming one with the earth.
